INDUSEARCH is an initiative by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation to foster a strong industry-research linkage, aimed at strengthening the synergies among the business community, academic and research institutions.
Kerala is home to many a quality research institution and this, coupled with the available high quality human and natural resources and investors with entrepreneurial skills provides the ideal launch pad for the state to spur overall economic development. But the absence of a close, well knit and continued interaction between industry and research institutions has deterred the progress and development in this area and it is this void that Indusearch hopes to fill.
INDUSEARCH is contemplated to provide a platform for convergence of these vital functional areas leading to technological innovations for mutual benefits. The first initiative towards this has been attempted by bringing together the business community and the academic and R&D institutions for a direct interaction at the symposium held on 29 th July 2005 which was inaugurated by H.E. the president of India Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam on 28 th July 2005.
As a curtain raiser to INDUSEARCH, KSIDC with the support of Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment has come out with a directory which provides details on R&D personnel and institutions in the state. This directory was released by the President of India at the inaugural ceremony.
